Disciplinary Report 2018-2019

November 18, 2018 - Okotoks player, Austin Wong, is suspended for three (3) games, as a result of being assessed a major penalty for a blow to the head, during a November 17, 2018 game in Okotoks. The original call of charging was changed to a blow to the head after all the information had been reviewed.  The suspension is to be served during the Oilers’ next three (3) regularly scheduled League games.

November 18, 2018 - Okotoks player, Barrett Sheen, is suspended for one (1) game, as a result of being assessed the second goaltender interference penalty of the game during a November 17, 2018 game in Okotoks.   The suspension falls under rule #2.6 of the Junior A Supplement.  This suspension is to be served during the Okotoks’ next regularly scheduled League game.

November 17, 2018 - Drumheller Dragons' Brett Edwards is suspended for three (3) games as a result of being assessed a Gross Misconduct under Hockey Canada Rule 9.2 (f), during a November 16, 2018 game in Drumheller.  This suspension is to be served during the Dragons’ next three (3) scheduled games.

November 17, 2018 - Fort McMurray player, Chad MacLean, is suspended for two (2) games, as a result of being assessed a major penalty for cross checking, during a November 17, 2018 game in Grande Prairie.  The suspension falls under rule #8.2 of the Hockey Canada Rulebook. This suspension is to be served during the Oil Barons’ next two (2) regularly scheduled League games.

November 16, 2018 - Sherwood Park player, Michael Bentz, is suspended for two (2) games, as a result of being assessed a major penalty for checking from behind, during a November 16, 2018 game in Drumheller.  The suspension falls under rule # 3.1 of the Jr A Supplement.  This suspension is to be served during the Crusaders’ next two (2) regularly scheduled League games.

November 12, 2018 - Okotoks player, Spencer McHardy, is suspended for two (2) games, as a result of being assessed his fourth kneeing penalty of this season, during a November 10, 2018 game in Drayton Valley.  The suspension is to be served during the Oilers’ next two (2) regularly scheduled League games.

November 10, 2018 - Drumheller player, Jordan Taupert, is suspended for two (2) games, as a result of being assessed a major penalty for a blow to the head, during a November 10, 2018 game in Calgary.   The suspension falls under rule #1.2 of the Junior “A” Supplement.   The suspension is to be served during the Dragons’ next two (2) regularly scheduled League games.

November 8, 2018 - Sherwood Park player, Jayden Platz, is suspended for one (1) game, as a result of being assessed his second instigator penalty of the season, during a November 7, 2018 game in Fort McMurray.   This ruling falls under rule #6.2 of the Junior 'A' Supplement.  The suspension is to be served during the Crusaders’ next regularly scheduled League game. 

November 5, 2018 - A review has taken place on a hit delivered by Olds Grizzlys player, Kaiden Kanderka, during a November 3, 2018 game in Olds. The review has found that Grizzlys player, Kaiden Kanderka, should have been assessed a minor penalty for kneeing; the call has been elevated to a major penalty.  Olds Grizzlys player, Kaiden Kanderka, is suspended for two (2) games as per Rule #8.3 of the Hockey Canada Rulebook. The suspension is to be served during the Grizzlys’ next two (2) regularly scheduled League games.

November 4, 2018 - Okotoks player, Spencer McHardy, is suspended for two (2) games, as a result of being assessed his third kneeing penalty of this season, during a November 3, 2018 game in Okotoks.  The suspension is to be served during the Oilers’ next two (2) regularly scheduled League games.

November 2, 2018 - Olds player, Lukas Jirousek, is suspended for three (3) games, as a result of being assessed a match penalty for checking from behind, during a November 2, 2018 game in Olds.  The suspension falls under rule # 3.1 of the Junior A Supplement.  This suspension is to be served during the Grizzlys’ next three (3) regularly scheduled League games.

October 29, 2018 - Okotoks player, Barrett Sheen, is suspended for two (2) games, as a result of being assessed a major penalty for interference, during an October 28, 2018 game in Lloydminster.   The suspension falls under rule #6.3 of the Hockey Canada Rulebook.   This suspension is to be served during the Oilers’ next two (2) regularly scheduled League games.

October 14, 2018 - Drayton Valley player, Tanner Foster, is suspended five (5) games for violation of AJHL Bylaw 19.4 (vii).  The suspension is to be served during the next five (5) scheduled League games of the Drayton Valley Thunder.

October 14, 2018 - Canmore player, Tian Rask, is suspended for two (2) games, as a result of being assessed a Major Penalty for Slashing, during an October 13, 2018 game in Canmore.  The suspension falls under rule #6.3 of the Hockey Canada Rulebook.  This suspension is to be served during the Eagles next two (2) regularly scheduled League games.

October 14, 2018 - The following players have been suspended two (2) games for being involved in a fight after the final buzzer to end the game in Calgary on October 14, 2018: Calgary Canucks Adamu Tanaka, Grande Prairie Storm Xavier Pouliot.  The suspensions fall under rule 7.5 of the Junior “A” Supplement.  The suspensions are to be served during the next two (2) scheduled League games of the Canucks and Storm.

October 13, 2018 - Violation of AJHL Article 1.1 (Number of Players in Uniform): Each member team will be allowed a maximum of six (6) twenty 20 year-old players on their HCR roster and Affiliate List combined.  The Drayton Valley Thunder had seven (7) twenty (20) year old players combined, and as a result, the Thunder roster for the October 13th game vs the Fort McMurray Oil Barons is deemed ineligible.  The result of the game will now be classified as a regulation win for the Oil Barons and the points originally earned will be taken away from the Thunder.

October 13, 2018 - Okotoks player, Barrett Sheen, is suspended for three (3) games as a result of being assessed gross misconduct under Hockey Canada Rule 9.2 (f), during a October 13, 2018 game in Okotoks.  This suspension is to be served during the Oilers’ next three (3) scheduled games.

October 12, 2018 - Calgary Canucks player, Max Struss, and Okotoks Oilers player, Carson Dyck, are each suspended for one (1) game, as a result of being involved in a secondary fight, during an October 12, 2018 game in Okotoks.  This penalty falls under rule #7.1 of the Junior “A” Supplement.  The suspensions are to be served during the respective teams’ next regularly scheduled League game.

October 11, 2018 - Lloydminster player, Drew Warkentine, is suspended for two (2) games, as a result of being assessed a Major Penalty for a Blow to the Head, during an October 11, 2018 game in Sherwood Park.   The suspension falls under rule #1.2 of the Junior “A” Supplement.   The suspension is to be served during the Bobcat’s next two (2) regularly scheduled League games.

October 8, 2018 - Camrose Kodiak player, Carson Welke, is suspended for two (2) games, as a result of being assessed a major penalty for kneeing, during an October 7, 2018 game in Camrose.   The suspension falls under rule #8.3 of the Hockey Canada Rulebook.   The suspension is to be served during the Kodiaks’ next two (2) regularly scheduled League games.

October 7, 2018 - Whitecourt player, Kurtis Labant, is suspended for two (2) games, as a result of being assessed a major penalty for charging, during a October 6, 2018 game in Whitecourt.  The suspension falls under rule #6.3 of the Hockey Canada Rulebook.  This suspension is to be served during the Wolverines’ next two (2) regularly scheduled League games.

October 7, 2018 - Lloydminster Bobcats’ player, Matthew Mohrbutter, is suspended for two (2) games, as a result of being assessed a major penalty for cross checking, during a October 6, 2018 game in Lloydminster.   The suspension falls under rule #8.2 of the Hockey Canada Rulebook.  This suspension is to be served during the Bobcats’ next two (2) regularly scheduled League games.

September 29, 2018 - Whitecourt player, Ben Evanish, is suspended for two (2) games, as a result of being assessed a major penalty for checking from behind, during a September 29, 2018 game in Camrose.  The suspension falls under rule # 3.1 of the Junior A Supplement.   This suspension is to be served during the Wolverines’ next two (2) regularly scheduled League games.

September 28, 2019 - Brooks player, Ryan Mahshie, is suspended for two (2) games, as a result of being assessed a major penalty, during a September 28, 2018 game in Camrose. The initial call on the ice was a major for charging.  After a League review,
the penalty was changed to a major for boarding.  The suspension falls under rule #6.3 of the Hockey Canada Rulebook.   This suspension is to be served during the Bandits’ next two (2) regularly scheduled League games.

September 28, 2019 - Grande Prairie player, Xavier Pouliot, is suspended for two (2) games, as a result of being assessed a major penalty for a blow to the head during a September 28, 2018 game in Camrose. The suspension is to be served during the Storms’ next two (2) regularly scheduled League games.

September 28, 2018 - Drumheller player, Kaden Hanas, is suspended for two (2) games, as a result of being assessed a major penalty for checking from behind, during a September 27, 2018 game in Camrose.  The suspension falls under rule # 3.1 of the AJHL Supplement.   This suspension is to be served during the Dragons’ next two (2) regularly scheduled League games.

September 27, 2018 - Okotoks player, Austin Wong, is suspended for three (3) games, as a result of being assessed a match penalty for spitting during a September 27, 2018 game in Camrose.  The suspension falls under rule #9.7 of the Hockey Canada Rulebook and AJHL Bylaw 3.12.  The suspension is to be served during the Oilers’ next three (3) regularly scheduled League games.

September 24, 2018 - Fort McMurray player, Jack Hamly, is suspended for three (3) games, as a result of being assessed a match penalty for kicking, during a September 23, 2018 game in Bonnyville.  The suspension falls under rule #3.12 of the AJHL Bylaws.  The suspension is to be served during the Oil Barons’ next three (3) regularly scheduled League games.

September 19, 2018 - Drumheller player, Dylan Wenzel, is suspended for two (2) games, as a result of being assessed a major penalty for Charging, during a September 18, 2018 game in Drumheller.  The suspension falls under rule #6.3 of the Hockey Canada Rulebook.  This suspension is to be served during the Dragons next two (2) regularly scheduled League games.

September 17, 2018 - A review has taken place on a Checking from Behind minor penalty assessed to Grayson Constable of the Bonnyville Pontiacs, during a September 15, 2018 game in Whitecourt. The review has found that the Pontiacs’ player, Grayson Constable, should have been assessed a major penalty for Checking from Behind.   Bonnyville player, Grayson Constable, is suspended for three (3) games as per Rule #3.1 of the Junior “A” Supplement.   The suspension is to be served during the Pontiacs next three (3) regularly scheduled League games.

September 15, 2018 - After review of the Match Penalty assessed to Bonnyville player, Ty Enns, during the September 14, 2018 game in Whitecourt, a Game Misconduct has been assessed.  As a result, Bonnyville player, Ty Enns, is suspended for one (1) game.  The suspension falls under rule #3.10 of the AJHL Bylaws. The suspension is to be served during the Pontiacs’ September 15, 2018 game in Whitecourt.

September 8, 2018 - Calgary Canucks player, Jackson Hogg, is suspended for two (2) games, as a result of being assessed a Major Penalty for Charging, during a September 7, 2018 game in Okotoks.  The suspension falls under rule #6.3 of the Hockey Canada Rulebook.  This suspension is to be served during the Canucks’ next two (2) regularly scheduled Exhibition and / or League games.
