2009-2010 Disciplinary Action 

March 11, 2010 - Travis Dunstall (Grande Prairie Storm) is suspended for one (1) game as a result of being assessed a game misconduct, during a March11, 2010 game in Ft. McMurray.  The suspension is to be served during the Storms’ next regularly scheduled play-off game.

February 17, 2010 - Jared Wynia (Calgary Canucks) is suspended for three (3) games as a result of a hit which injured an opposing player during a February 15, 2010 game in Calgary.  The suspension is to be served during the Canucks’ next three (3) regularly scheduled League games.

February 16, 2010 - Cole Penner (Camrose Kodiaks) is suspended for two (2) games for negative comments (profanity) during an off-ice incident at a February 13, 2010 game in Canmore .  This suspension is to be served during the Kodiaks next two regularly scheduled games. 

February 15, 2010 - Devon Kalinsky (Bonnyville Pontiacs) is suspended for one (1) game as a result of being assessed his third instigator penalty of the season, during a February 15, 2010 game in Lloydminster.  The suspension is to be served during the Pontiacs’ next regularly scheduled League game.

February 14, 2010 - Tanner Fritz (Grande Prairie Storm) is suspended for one (1) game as a result of being assessed a game misconduct, during a February 14, 2010 game in St. Albert.  The suspension is to be served during the Storms’ next regularly scheduled League game.

February 13, 2010 – Luke Challier (Camrose Kodiaks) is suspended for one (1) game as a result of being assessed a gross misconduct, during a February 13, 2010 game in Canmore.  The suspension is to be served during the Kodiaks’ next regularly scheduled League game.

February 12, 2010 - Tim Nolte (Spruce Grove Saints) is suspended for one (1) game as a result of being assessed his third instigator penalty of the season, during a February 12, 2010 game in Grande Prairie.  The suspension is to be served during the Saints’ next regularly scheduled League game.

February 12, 2010 - As a result of players being involved in a fight while one was already in progress, during a February 12, 2010 game in Grande Prairie, the following suspensions have been assessed: 

  • Grande Prairie Storm – Mitch Neumeier – two (2) games 
  • Spruce Grove Saints – Bryce Van Brabant – two (2) games; Wes McLeod – two (2) games

 The suspensions are to be served during the respective teams’ next two (2) regularly scheduled League games.

February 9, 2010 - Chad Carder (Grande Prairie Storm) is suspended for three (3) games as a result of a high stick infraction, which injured an opposing player during a February 6, 2010 game in Fort McMurray.  The suspension is to be served during the Storms’ next three (3) regularly scheduled League games.

February 9, 2010 – Chad Carder (Grande Prairie Storm) is suspended for one (1) game for disrespectful behaviour towards an AJHL On-Ice Official.  This suspension is to be served after Mr. Carder’s current three (3) game suspension has been completed. 

February 8, 2010 - Landon Kadatz (Olds Grizzlys) is suspended for four (4) games as a result of a hit that has put a Drayton Valley player out of action for the remainder of scheduled League play during a February 5, 2010 game in Drayton Valley.  The suspension is to be served during the Grizzlys’ next four (4) regularly scheduled League games.

February 6, 2010 - As a result of players being involved in a fight while one was already in progress, during a February 6, 2010 game in Drayton Valley, the following suspensions have been assessed: 

  • Calgary Royals – Alex Hustad – two (2) games
  • Drayton Valley Thunder – Lindsay Le Blanc – two (2) games 

The suspensions are to be served during the respective teams’ next two (2) regularly scheduled League games.

February 6, 2010 - As a result of players being involved in a fight while one was already in progress, during a February 6, 2010 game in Drayton Valley, the following suspensions have been assessed: 

  • Calgary Royals:  Thomas Cardinal – three (3) games; Chris Lijdsman – three (3) games; Chris Draper – three (3) games; Steven Fernie – three (3) games;   Evan Smith – three (3) games
  • Drayton Valley Thunder: Dalton Reum – three (3) games; Shawn Proulx – three (3) games; Walter Gatza – three (3) games; Reid Johnson – three (3) games;   Jeffrey Holloway – three (3) games 

In addition to the above, Calgary Royals player Evan Smith is suspended for an additional one (1) game for having been assessed a third game misconduct.  Mr. Smith is suspended for a total of four (4) games. 

The suspensions are to be served during the respective teams’ next three (3) and/or four (4) regularly scheduled League games. 

February 5, 2010 - Brooks Bandits Head Coach, Ryan Papaioannou, has been assessed a League Fine for receiving a game misconduct during a February 5, 2010 game in Brooks.  The fine is to be in the League office by February 23, 2010. 

February 3, 2010 – Adam Henderson (Spruce Grove Saints) is suspended for one (1) game for being assessed a gross misconduct during a February 3, 2010 game in Lloydminster.  The suspension is to be served during the Saints’ next regularly scheduled League game.  

February 2, 2010 - Brian Doust (Canmore Eagles) is suspended for two (2) games for being assessed a gross misconduct during a February 2, 2010 game in Brooks.  The suspension is to be served during the Eagles’ next two (2) regularly scheduled League games.

January 28, 2010 - Derek Weidmer (Camrose Kodiaks) has been suspended for one (1) game, as a result of a being assessed a gross  misconduct during a January 28, 2010 game in Camrose.   The suspension is to be served during the Kodiaks’ next regularly scheduled League game. 

January 28, 2010 - The following players are suspended for being involved in a fight while one was already in progress, during a January 28, 2010 game in Canmore: 

  • Brooks Bandits – Tyler Skauge – two (2) games
  • Canmore Eagls – Thomas Stachiw – two (2) games   

These suspensions are to be served during the respective teams’ next two (2) regularly scheduled League games.

January 23, 2010 - The following players are suspended for being involved in a fight while one was already in progress, during a January 23, 2010 game in Brooks: 

  • Brooks Bandits – Rob Gunderson – two (2) games
  • Olds Grizzlys – Marc Boulanger – three (3) games   

These suspensions are to be served as follows: the next two (2) regularly scheduled league games for the Bandits’ player and the next three (3) regularly scheduled games for the Grizzlys’ player.

January 9, 2010 - Adam Stephen (Canmore Eagles) has been suspended for five (5) games, as a result of a check from behind, during a December 9, 2010 game in Drumheller, which has put an opposing player out of action for an undetermined period of time.   This suspension is to be served after Mr. Stephen’s current two (2) game suspension has been completed. 

January 9, 2010 – The following players have each been suspended for two (2) games, as a result of being involved in a fight while one was already in progress, during a January 9, 2010 game in Drumheller: 

  • Canmore Eagles – Adam Stephen
  • Drumheller Dragons – Kyle Knelsen

 The suspensions are to be served during the respective teams’ next two (2) regularly scheduled League games. 

January 9, 2010 - Brooks Coach, Ryan Papaioannou, has been assessed a League fine for receiving a game misconduct.  Drayton Valley Assistant Coach, Mike Mueller, is suspended for one (1) game as a result of being assessed a gross misconduct.  The suspension is to be served during the Thunder’s next regularly scheduled League game. 

January 3, 2010 - Darren Kramer (Grande Prairie Storm) is suspended for one (1) game, as a result of being assessed his third instigator penalty of the year, during a January 3, 2010 game in Spruce Grove.  The suspension is to be served during the Storm’s next regularly scheduled League game.

December 20, 2009 – The following players have each been suspended for two (2) games, as a result of being involved in a fight while one was already in progress, during a December 20th, 2009 game in St. Albert: 

  • Drayton Valley Thunder – Lindsay LeBlanc
  • St. Albert Steel – Ryan Edens 

The suspensions are to be served during the respective teams’ next two (2) regularly scheduled League games.

December 17, 2009 - Colin Lidster (Grande Prairie Storm) is suspended for one (1) game as a result of being assessed a game misconduct, during a December 17, 2009 game in Calgary.  The suspension is to be served during the Storm’s next regularly scheduled League game.

December 16, 2009 - Alex Perkins (St. Albert Steel) is suspended for one (1) game, as a result of being assessed his third instigator penalty of the season, during a December 16, 2009 game in Spruce Grove.  The suspension is to be served during the Steel’s next regularly scheduled League game.

December 3, 2009 - Shawn Bates (Bonnyville Pontiacs) is suspended for one (1) game as a result of being assessed a game misconduct during a December 2, 2009 game in Fort McMurray.  The suspension is to be served during the Pontiacs’ next regularly scheduled League game. 

December 1, 2009 - Cody Fehr (Okotoks Oilers) is suspended for leaving the team without permission.  The suspension is to begin immediately.

November 28, 2009 - Brad Stebner (Fort McMurray Oil Barons) and Brad McConnell (Camrose Kodiaks) are each suspended for two (2) games, as a result of being involved in a fight while one was already in progress, during a November 28, 2009 game in Camrose.  The suspensions are to be served during the respective teams’ next two (2) regularly scheduled League games.

November 28, 2009 - Brendan Wright (Fort McMurray Oil Barons) is suspended for one (1) game as a result of being assessed a gross misconduct during a November 28, 2009 game in Camrose.  The suspension is to be served during the Oil Barons’ next regularly scheduled League game.

N0vember 28, 2009 - Jesse Slobodian (Spruce Grove Saints) has been suspended for one (1) game for having been assessed his third instigator penalty of the season during a November 27th, 2009 game in Sherwood Park.  The suspension is to be served during the Saints’ next regularly scheduled League game.

November 27, 2009 - Greg Lazoruk (Sherwood Park Crusaders) is suspended for one (1) game as a result of being assessed a Game Misconduct during a November 27, 2009 game in Sherwood Park.  The suspension is to be served during the Crusaders’ next regularly scheduled League game.

November 25, 2009 - Darren Kramer (Grande Prairie Storm) is suspended for one (1) game as a result of being assessed a Game Misconduct during a November 25, 2009 game in Brooks. The suspension is to be served during the Storm’s next regularly scheduled League game.

November 22, 2009 - Davis Claffey (Canmore Eagles) and David Way (Sherwood Park Crusaders) are each suspended for two (2) games, as a result of being involved in a fight while one was already in progress during a November 22, 2009 game in Sherwood Park.  The suspensions are to be served during the respective teams’ next two (2) regularly scheduled League games.

November 19, 2009 - Jason Kenney (Drumheller Dragons) is suspended for three (3) games as a result of being assessed a major penalty during a November 13, 2009 game in Drumheller.  The hit has left an opposing player injured and unable to play for an undetermined period of time.  The suspension is to be served during the Dragons’ next three (3) regularly scheduled League games.

November 14, 2009 - Jordan Ness (Drayton Valley Thunder) is suspended for three (3) games, as a result of being assessed a major penalty during a November 14, 2009 game in Lloydminster.  The hit has left an opposing player injured and unable to play for an undetermined period of time.  The suspension is to be served during the Thunder’s next three (3) regularly scheduled League games.

November 10, 2009 - Cam McWilliam (Grande Prairie Storm) is suspended for four (4) games as a result of a hit that has put a Sherwood Park player out of action for an undetermined period of time during a November 8, 2009 game in Grande Prairie.  The suspension is to be served during Grande Prairie’s next four (4) regularly scheduled League games.

November 1, 2009 - Kris Steedsman (Fort McMurray Oil  Barons) is suspended for four (4) games as a result of a hit that has injured an opposing player.  Lucas Isley sustained a broken bone in his arm as a result of this hit and will be out of his team’s line-up for an undetermined period of time.  The suspension is to be served during the Oil Barons’ next four (4) regularly scheduled League games.

October 31, 2009 - Brooks Head Coach, Ryan Papaioannou, is suspended for one (1) game as a result of being assessed a gross misconduct during an October 31, 2009 game in Drumheller.  The suspension is to be served during the Bandits’ next regularly scheduled League game.

October 31, 2009 - Lindsay Leblanc (Drayton Valley Thunder) is suspended for one (1) game, as a result of being assessed his third misconduct of the season under the tie-down rule, during an October 30, 2009 in Drayton Valley.  The suspension is to be served during the next t regularly scheduled League game.

October 20, 2009 – Brad Ryan (Fort McMurray Oil Barons) is suspended for four (4) games as a result of being assessed a major penalty for checking from behind, during an October 20, 2009 game in Fort McMurray.  The suspension is to be served during the Oil Barons’ next four (4) regularly scheduled League games. 

October 17, 2009 - Bryce Van Brabant (Spruce Grove Saints) is suspended for three (3) games, as a result of being assessed a match penalty, during an October 17, 2009 game in Spruce Grove.  The suspension is to be served during the Saints’ next three (3) regularly scheduled League games.

October 16, 2009 - Scott Kennedy (Drumheller Dragons) is suspended for three (3) games, as a result of being assessed a match penalty, during an October 16, 2009 game in Canmore.  The suspension is to be served during the Dragons next three (3) regularly scheduled League games.

October 11, 2009 - Lloydminster Assistant Coach Cole Fischer is suspended for one (1) game as a result of being assessed a game misconduct during an October 11, 2009 game in Calgary.

Bobcats Head Coach Tom Keca has been assessed a League Fine for receiving a game misconduct and is also suspended for one (1) game for having been assessed a gross misconduct.  The suspensions are to be served during the Bobcats’ next regularly scheduled League game.

October 10, 2009 - The Grande Prairie Storm and the Spruce Grove Saints have each been assessed a League Fine for pre-game warm-up violations during an October 10, 2009 game in Grande Prairie. 

September 28, 2009 - Lloydminster Bobcats player Liam Gorges is suspended for failing to report following a trade.  The suspension is to begin immediately.

September 27, 2009 - The following players have each been suspended for two (2) games, as a result of being involved in a fight while one was already in progress, during a September 27, 2009 in Spruce Grove: 

  • Drumheller Dragons – Todd Callaghan
  • Spruce Grove Saints– Tim Nolte 

The suspensions are to be served during the respective teams’ next two (2) regularly scheduled League games. 

September 25, 2009 - The following players have each been suspended for two (2) games, as a result of being involved in a fight while one was already in progress, during a September 25, 2009 in Bonnyville: 

  • Bonnyville Pontiacs – Donnie Harris
  • Calgary Royals – Zach Beisel 

The suspensions are to be served during the respective teams’ next two (2) regularly scheduled League games. 

 September 23, 2009 - The following players have each been suspended for three (3) games, as a result of being involved in a fight while one was already in progress, during a September 23, 2009 in Calgary: 

  • Calgary Royals – Bradley Drobot and Christopher Levy
  • Drumheller Dragons – Justin Tateson and Matthew Brown

The suspensions are to be served during the respective teams’ next three (3) regularly scheduled League games. 

September 19, 2009- The following players have each been suspended for two (2) games as a result of being involved in a fight while one was already in progress during a September 19, 2009 game in Fort McMurray: 

  • Fort McMurray Oil Barons – Shay Laurent
  • Spruce Grove Saints -  Scott Allen

The suspensions are to be served during the respective teams’ next two (2) regularly scheduled League games. 

September 18, 2009 - Matt Wray (Camrose Kodiaks) is suspended for three (3) games as a result of being assessed a match penalty for checking from behind, during a September 18, 2009 game in Camrose. 

The suspension is to be served during the Kodiaks’ next three (3) regularly scheduled League games. 

September 17, 2009 - Justin Lutz (Brooks Bandits) is suspended for twenty five (25) games as a result of being assessed a match penalty during a September 16, 2009 game in Drumheller.  In addition, Brooks Head Coach Brian Curran is suspended for five (5) games and has been assessed a League Fine for failure to control his player. 

The suspension to Mr. Lutz is to be served during Brooks’ next twenty five (25) regularly scheduled League games.  The suspension to Mr. Curran is to be served during the Bandits’ next five (5) regularly scheduled League games. 

September 14, 2009 - St. Albert Steel Head Coach/General Manager Greg Parks is suspended for one (1) game for allowing an ineligible player to participate in a regular season game.  The suspension is effective immediately.

September 9, 2009 - The following players have each been suspended for two (2) games as a result of being involved in a fight while one was already in progress, during a September 9, 2009 exhibition game in Canmore: 

  • Canmore Eagles – Jesse Altheim
  • Drumheller Dragons – Scott Kennedy

The suspensions are to be served during the respective teams’ first two (2) regularly scheduled League games.

September 6, 2009 - Nolan Smith (Brooks Bandits) is suspended for the first  regular season game, as well as the balance of the exhibition schedule, as a result of being assessed a game misconduct at the conclusion of a September 6, 2009 exhibition game in Brooks.  The suspension is to be served during the Bandits’ remaining exhibition games and their first regularly scheduled League game.   

September 5, 2009 - The following players have each been suspended for the first two (2) regular season games, as well as the balance of the exhibition schedule, as a result of being involved in a fight while one was already in progress during a September 5, 2009 exhibition game:  

  • Brooks Bandits – Ben Scott
  • Calgary Royals – Matt Maleschuk

September 4, 2009 - The following players have each been suspended for the first three (3) regular season games, as well as the balance of the exhibition schedule, as a result of being involved in a fight while one was already in progress during a September 4, 2009 exhibition game:  

  • Saint Albert Steel – Taylor Fraser, David Carr, and Alex Perkins
  • Spruce Grove Saints – Tyler Hart, J. R. Baird, and Bryce Van Brabant

September 2, 2009- Okotoks Oilers Head Coach, Dan MacDonald, has been assessed a League Fine as a result of receiving a game misconduct during a September 2, 2009 exhibition game in Calgary.

August 28, 2009 - Dillon Houghton (Drumheller Dragons) and Brandon Rommens (Olds Grizzlys) are each suspended for one (1) game, as a result of each being assessed a gross misconduct during an August 28, 2009 exhibition game in Drumheller.  The suspensions are to be served during the respective teams’ next AJHL game.
