Register Commits to Alabama-Huntsville

The Bonnyville Pontiacs are pleased to announce that 20-year-old defenseman, Matthew Register (Calgary, AB) has verbally committed to attend the University of Alabama-Huntsville (NCAA Division I) for the fall of 2010.

In his third season with the Pontiacs, the 6’2”, 210 pound left shot has established himself as a scoring threat from the blueline. Register was recently named to the North Divisions entry for the AJHL All-Star Game.  He currently leads the Pontiacs and all AJHL defensemen in assists (37), points (50), and powerplay goals (9).

The University of Alabama-Huntsville Chargers currently play in the NCAA’s College Hockey America divisions, but will be entering an independent schedule beginning 2010-2011.  Register will join former Pontiac Jamie Easton with the Chargers.

The Pontiacs would like to congratulate Matthew and his family.  We are extremely proud of Matthew and his accomplishments, and wish him much success at the University of Alabama-Huntsville.
