Gunderson Commits to WCHA

gunderson.jpgThe Brooks Bandits are proud to announce that 19 year old goaltender Rob Gunderson has committed to the University of Alaska-Anchorage Sea Wolves of the WCHA for the 2010-2011 season.

Gunderson from Lethbridge, Alberta, is entering his third season with the Bandits. He currently holds the club’s single season record with a 2.58 GAA along with the club’s career best mark of 2.93 GAA. Rob was selected to the 2009 South Division AJHL All Star Team and lead the Bandits to a club best 39 wins.

Assistant GM/Assistant Coach Ryan Papaioannou, “This is the perfect kick off to our organization’s 10th Anniversary. Rob’s dedication to development and ability to persevere have paid off today. Having the opportunity to coach Rob in minor hockey, I am personally excited for this new opportunity. Within the City of Brooks, Rob is well known for his upbeat personality, always giving back to kids and local programs.”

The Brooks Bandits organization would like to congratulate Rob and his family on this athletic and academic accomplishment.

Rob Gunderson is the first Bandit of the 2009-2010 season to commit to the NCAA.
