Brooks Busy with Off Season Acquisitions
July 28, 2009
The Brooks Bandits have been busy over the past couple weeks, acquiring three players all in separate trades. Defenseman Kent Fox from the Calgary Royals, Forward Logan Gabel from the Lloydminster Bobcats and Forward Darcy Osmond for the Olds Grizzlys.
Kent Fox, “I am excited and I can’t wait to start playing with the Brooks Bandits. I always enjoyed coming into Brooks to play the Bandits because of the excitement the fans brought to the games. I am looking forward to a great season with the Bandits.”
Logan Gabel, “After going full circle I’m excited to be back playing for the Bandits. With Brooks being one of the top teams in the AJHL and with great fan support, it’s sure to make for a memorable season.”
Darcy Osmond, “I’m excited about joining the Bandits organization and appreciate the opportunity to come play in Brooks. I am looking forward to playing under Brian Curran and Ryan Papaioannou and having a successful season. My goal is to come in and contribute to both the hockey club and the community.”
Assistant Coach/Assistant GM Ryan Papaioannou added, “With these moves our depth and experience has greatly improved. We are more than excited in each of the trades in their own respect. Kent brings us a veteran presence on the blue line and has the work ethic of a Bandit. Logan is a player we will look to for offence and he is more then ready to accept that responsibility. Darcy brings tremendous leadership qualities and offensive upside that will add to our lineup. ”
