SAINTS RELEASE: Berry Commits to University

March 6th, 2006 – The Spruce Grove Saints would like to announce that 20 year-old defenseman, Ryan Berry, has committed to the University of Alaska – Anchorage.  Berry will join the Seawolves in September of 2006.

Berry, who is from Edmonton, is in his first season with the Saints after having been acquired during the off-season from the Sherwood Park Crusaders.  In 59 regular season games this season, he had 30 points and was also named to the AJHL North Division All Star Team.

Berry becomes the fourth Saints player to commit to the NCAA College ranks this season joining Jesse Martin – Denver, Kane Lafranchise- University of Alaska – Anchorage, and Ben Scrivens – Cornell.

Ryan Berry is the 33rd Alberta Junior Hockey League Player to commit to a NCAA College or University this season.  A complete list of AJHL players who have committed to College and University throughout the 2005-06 Season is available at www.ajhl.ca.
