Posted April 15th, 2019 @ 12:00 am

Okotoks Oilers forward Dylan Holloway will be packing his bags for Sweden.  The dynamic 17 year-old forward will represent Team Canada at the 2019 Under 18 World Hockey Championships from April 18-28 in Örnsköldsvik and Umeå, Sweden.

Holloway, who hails from Bragg Creek, led the Oilers with 40 goals, 48 assists, and 88 points in 53 games this regular season. He also led the Oilers with nine goals in their most recent playoff run.

Holloway will join Okotoks native Peyton Krebs, who was named captain of the Canadian squad earlier this week.

Canada opens the 2019 IIHF U18 World Championship Finland on April 18, and will also face Switzerland (April 19), Belarus (April 21) and the Czech Republic (April 23) in preliminary-round action. TSN/RDS, the official broadcast partner of Hockey Canada, are broadcasting 16 games, including all of Team Canada’s match-ups at the IIHF U18 World Championship.

Canada has won seven medals at the IIHF U18 World Championship, including three gold (2003, 2008, 2013), one silver (2005) and three bronze (2012, 2014, 2015).
