The first Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Player of the Month for 2018 is Spruce Grove Saints forward Chris Van Os-Shaw.  Chris opened the new year with 21 points (9 goals, 12 assists) in 11 games through January 2018.

Van Os-Shaw, 20, leads the AJHL in scoring with 73 points, including a league leading 41 goals.  He enters February on an 8-game goal scoring streak, which coincides with the Saints current win streak.

Over the month of January, Van Os-Shaw was selected as the Viterra AJHL Star of the Game three times.  He recorded two game winning goals along the way, to lead the league with 6 game winning goals, a benchmark shared with three North Division opponents.  Chris had six multi-point games last month and leads the league with an average of 1.5 points per game.

Van Os-Shaw was also selected as the Canalta Hotels AJHL Player of the Week from January 8th-14th.    He has committed to the NCAA Division I University of Alaska Anchorage.

The Alberta Junior Hockey League is pleased to partner with the Alberta Ford Dealers Association and will recognize the AJHL Player of the Month throughout the regular season.  The AJHL and Ford also partner on the Alberta Ford Dealers Defensive Player of the Week.
