Posted April 7th, 2017 @ 9:33 am

CHICAGO — Just two teams and one game remain in the 2016-17 men's ice hockey season.

Minnesota Duluth and Denver will square off in Saturday's championship game after advancing on Thursday. The Bulldogs did it in dramatic fashion with a tiebreaking goal with 26.6 seconds remaining, while Denver took all the intrigue out early with a thrashing of Notre Dame.

Now the top two seeds in the tournament will have their eyes on each other with the trophy within an arm's reach.

Eight AJHL Alumni fill the rosters of the two Championship contenders, four per side, with three players coming from the Spruce Grove Saints:

University of Denver

  • Matthew Marcinew (RW) - Olds Grizzlys / Lloyd. Bobcats
  • Tariq Hammond (D) - Okotoks Oilers

Univ. of Minnesota-Duluth
