Canalta Hotels Player of the Week & Alberta Ford Defensive Player of the Week

Canmore Eagles forward Braden Saretsky is the Canalta Hotels AJHL Player of the Week.  In 3 games played during the week of January 30th – February 5th, Braden scored 5 goals and 6 points in three consecutive wins for the Eagles.

Braden Saretsky (West Kelowna, BC) scored 2 goals on Tuesday night against Drumheller, then had a repeat performance against Grande Prairie on Friday night.  He wrapped up the week with a goal and an assist in a win over the Calgary Mustangs on Saturday. 

Saretsky, 20, has recorded points in nine of his last 10 games and is third in team scoring.  He is 6th overall in the AJHL Scoring Race with 26 goals, 32 assists and 58 points and is 2nd overall with 9 powerplay goals.

The Canmore Eagles have won their last 6 straight games, and are 4th in the Viterra AJHL South Division Standings with 11 regular season games remaining.

The Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week is goaltender Riley Morris of the Okotoks Oilers.  Morris was 2-0 for the Oilers last week and recorded his third shutout of the season.

Riley Morris (Calgary, AB) turned away 42 of 44 shots to defeat the Calgary Canucks on Saturday night, then shutout the Grande Prairie Storm on Sunday.  The 20 year-old netminder has the 2nd most wins of all AJHL goalies with a record of 25-11-3 and holds the highest save percentage at .927%.   He also sits among the Top 5 AJHL goaltenders with a 2.30 GAA.  Morris is in his third AJHL season with the Oilers.

The Oilers are 2nd in the Viterra AJHL South Division Standings with 9 games remaining.
