Bandits Press Release â€“ Petruzzelli Commits to the University of Vermont

The Brooks Bandits are proud to announce that 19 year old Forward Anthony Petruzzelli has committed to play for the University of Vermont, beginning in the fall of 2014. Located in Burlington, Vermont the “Catamounts” play in the Hockey East Conference under Head Coach Kevin Sneddon.
Anthony is from Federal Way, WA and played junior hockey with the Helena Big Horns before joining the Bandits in 2011. Since joining the Bandits he has been an offensive threat every night while also being one of the most sound defensive players for the reigning AJHL Champions. During his rookie season Anthony posted 23 goals and 24 assists for 47 points, while also earning AJHL Rookie of the Year hounors. He currently leads the Bandits in goal scoring this season with 15.
Head Coach/GM Ryan Papaioannou – “Anthony is a very versitile player that brings high energy for us every night. His work ethic and ability to learn have set him apart from other players. We were fortunate that he came from a great program in Helena and was detail oriented when he arrived in Brooks. He is a great kid and most deserving of this scholarship. We are excited to be able to work with him for another season before he leaves for Vermont.”
The Bandits Organization would like to congratulate Anthony and his Family on his athletic and academic future.
Anthony is the third Bandit comitted to play in the NCAA joining Patrick Lee (University of Massachusetts) and Anthony Paskaruk (Clarkson).
