Okotoks, AB (June 1, 2018) – The Okotoks Oilers of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) are pleased to announce that 1997 born defenceman Carson Beers has committed to attend and play for the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) beginning in the 2018-19 Alberta College Athletic Association (ACAC) season.
Located in Edmonton, Alberta, the Ooks play along with seven other colleges in the ACAC, under third year Head Coach and former AJHL coach Tim Fragle. The Ooks have won the ACAC Championship 17 times since 1965.
“Carson has called Okotoks home for a long time and our dressing room will not be the same now that he is gone. We wish Carson all the best in his future endeavors,” says Head Coach/GM Tyler Deis.
Beers, 20, has been a part of the Oilers organization since he was an affiliate player with the club back in the 2013-14 season. He holds a number of franchise records and has improved his stat totals in each of his four seasons in the Foothills. In the 2017-18 campaign with the green and gold, Beers had 51 points (7 goals, 44 assists) in 56 games played. His career line with the Oilers stands at 158 points (35 goals, 123 assists) in 221 games played with the Oilers.

The Oilers would like to congratulate Carson and his family on his achievement and along with his involvement with the organization for the past four plus years and thank him for his influence on our successes both on and off the ice.
