Olds Grizzlys Seeking Trainer/Athletic Therapist
The Olds Grizzlys are seeking an ambitious, career minded individual to serve as trainer and athletic therapist for their AJHL hockey team.
Duties would include but not be limited to:
- Must be available for first response and injury assessments at all games and practices.
- Plan and execute all injury prevention, rehabilitation, and assessment. In conjunction with staff and medical support staff,
- Establish and implement short term and long term injury treatment protocols
- Maintain and order medical supplies
- Record and file related documentation of injury progress reporting for all incidents
- Communicate with coaching staff on injuries and progress
- When required communicating with league officials on injury progress
- Dressing room organization and maintenance
- Order and preserve all equipment
- Skate sharpening
- Daily laundry

Certified Athletic Therapist, Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma: Kinesiology or related program and previous hockey team experience on the bench and in the dressing room is an asset. This position requires non-standard hours. Contract length and salary are negotiable.

Athletic Trainer and Equipment Manager - Drumheller Dragons
JOB DESCRIPTION
Duties:
• Medical:
o Injury prevention and exercise preparation, in collaboration with coaching staff, through the development and implementation of warm-up, cool-down, stretching, icing and taping protocols
o First response to injuries; injury assessment
o In collaboration with coaching staff and Team medical staff, the development, implementation and supervision of short term and long term injury treatment protocols (including coordination of appointments with Team medical staff and other external human resources such as doctors, chiropractors, massage therapists, physiotherapists, etc.)
o Coordination of game coverage scheduling with Team medical staff and other external human resources (including doctors, paramedics, EMTs, athletic therapists [if necessary], etc.)
• Equipment:
o Inventory, ordering, and supply of all Team and player equipment related to hockey operations (i.e., gloves, helmets, sticks, apparel, etc.)
o Distribution and recovery of equipment to/from players
o Maintenance and repair of all equipment
o Skate sharpening
o In collaboration with coaching staff, office staff, and external service providers, the ordering, assembly and repair of jerseys (including numbering, logos, name bars and general stitching)
o In collaboration with coaching staff and arena staff, the coordination, implementation and supervision of the maintenance, cleaning and repair of Team dressing room and environment
o Bench and dressing room set-up for practices and games (water bottles, towels, pucks, etc.)
o Post-practice and post-game laundry
Compensation Structure:
• If necessary, the duties of and compensation for this role can be structured in a flexible way by using external service providers to support the successful candidate. This will depend on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, availability and goals, and the compensation can be determined based on the amount of support required. This could include, for example, the provision of a billet home during the hockey season in order to address the seasonal nature of the position.
